Faith and ardor mingle to stunning effect in an all-French program. Messiaen couches his devoutness in lush colors, while Debussy’s delicate choral work brings to life Dante Rossetti’s poem about a “blessed damsel” yearning for her beloved. Durufle’s spellbinding Requiem in memory of his father exudes comfort and hope.
